Don’t be a duck. Don’t interrupt! – Classroom management 


I have read in many blogs about this classroom management. I could never use any of them because in my student’s first language it would not sound respectful. One of them that I have read, for example was: don’t be a chicken. Don’t interrupt. It would sound really bad  in Portuguese.

Anyways, one day, out of the blue the idea came up: Don’t be a duck. Don’t interrupt! Kids loved it.

Any time they interrupt the teacher, we cross a number. If I cross, for example, 10 bad interruptions in a week, they are not going to get a surprise (extra playing time, special occasion, etc.)
